Senior Staff Accountant

Position Overview

GRB&A is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Senior Staff Accountant. This person will hold a CPA license or will be working toward completing their CPA exam. They will have a strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial statement preparation, and disclosure requirements. This role requires a leader who takes pride in coaching and mentoring a team of junior staff accountants, growing their technical skills and delivering next level client service. Responsibilities and Duties

• Completes audits, reviews and compilations.
• Completes business and individual tax returns.
• Creates and analyzes asset, liability, and capital accounts by compiling electronic data and required documentation.
• Summarizes and prepares financial status and transaction reports, including profit and loss statements.
• Plays a vital part in the client’s financial management, including all account reconciliations and reporting.
• Complies with all federal, state, and local laws and interprets new and existing legislation.
• Focuses on tax compliance, state business registration, and agreement and legal document review.
• Assists supervisors and managers in leading complex engagements.
• Supervises staff of 1 or 2 people and carries out responsibilities in accordance with the firm’s policies.

Qualifications

• Holds or currently seeking a CPA license
• 3+ years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated ability to work in a leadership role and supervise junior level staff
• Outstanding communication skills and executive presence
